13-year-old missing girl found murdered

KARNAL: The Panipat police on Sunday recovered the body of a
13-year-old girl, who had been missing since October 6. Nikita,
daughter of Kamal Singh, had been missing from her house when her
father had reported to have dropped her from school outside the house.
However, when he came back home told his family, they said t Nikita
never came inside the house. Following which, her parents started
calling their relatives. However, all efforts to trace the girl proved
futile. After this Kamal Singh reported the matter to the police who
registered a missing report.

60-year-old held for raping minor in Bardoli

SURAT: A 60-year-old grocer has been booked by Bardoli police for
allegedly trying to rape a six-year-old girl in Station Road area on
Friday evening. Situation remained tense in Bardoli town on Saturday
and Sunday as both the accused and the victim belonged to different
communities. Additional police force has been deployed in the town to
avert any untoward situation. The victim, who had gone to the
accused’s shop to buy potato wafers, had injury marks on her private
parts. Later at home the victim writhed in pain and when her mother
inquired from her, she told her about the incident. The victim’s
parents were shocked to see rashes around their daughter’s private

Darshan’s wife apologises

Kannada actor Darshan and his wife Vijayalakshmi Sunday apologised to
the people of Karnataka for their marital tiff which even led to the
star’s arrest. On Sep 9, Darshan was arrested on a police complaint
filed by Vijayalakshmi accused him of assaulting her. The actor was
given bail by the Karnataka High Court Friday after his bail
application was rejected in two lower courts.
