PILLU KHERA (JIND): Haryana is rapidly climbing up the gender crime graph in India. A week after the rape of a dalit schoolgirl rocked Hisar, another case of gangrape came to light on Wednesday — that of a 30-year-old mother of a six-year-old girl. Not only was the woman assaulted but the rapists filmed the act too. Police said the crime was committed at her home in a railway colony on September 21.
Cops have arrested two men but the main suspect is still at large. In the earlier case of gangrape of a 16-year-old girl in Hisar’s Dabra village, after which the victim’s father committed suicide, the main accused are yet to be nabbed. The Jind rape caught media attention on Wednesday after a few villagers protested against police inaction and approached the SSP.
